The Mayo Illinois Alliance for Technology Based Healthcare was founded in 2010 to advance research and advance clinical treatment options in health care.
 
The Alliance is a framework for the parties’ cooperation in the area of individualized medicine and consists of:

(1) innovative educational programs to train next generation clinicians and biomedical scientists;

(2) integrated research activities focusing on information-based medicine, genomics and point-of-care diagnostics;

(3) entrepreneurial modes to ensure full deployment and commercialization of educational and research outcomes.
